The AWIT panel discussion at CompTIA’s Breakaway will feature several prominent women in IT industry, and Zylog Canada’s CEO John Mehrmann.

In an IT industry that never stops changing, the CompTIA Breakaway is the main education and training event of the year. Breakaway 2012, taking place from July 30th to August 2nd, will transform Las Vegas’ prestigious Aria Resort & Casino into the IT industry’s hot spot.

CompTIA’s proud community of Advancing Women in IT is “dedicated to empowering women with the knowledge and skills necessary to help their pursuit of successful IT careers, as well as to inspire women to enter the IT field as a career choice”1. This fast growing community not only provides information, mentorship and networking opportunities, it is also actively involved in legislation involving women and careers and develops initiatives and programs that help and inspire women to succeed in IT careers.
On Thursday, August 2nd (from 7:30am to 10:00am) CompTIA’s Breakaway 2012 will host an interactive panel discussion with the following prestigious panelists from the Advancing Women in IT community:

¡  Doriana Allyn, Manager of Environmental Health and Safety at Brother International
¡  Mary Ellen Grom, VP, U.S. Marketing at SYNNEX Corporation
¡  John Mehrmann,  CEO of Zylog Systems (Canada) Limited
¡  Nellie Scott, Channel Services Business Manager at Lenovo
¡  Stephanie Young, VP, North America Distribution at Xerox

The topics that will be touched on by the AWIT panel discussion will range from “How to get your ideas accepted and funded by executives” to “How to differentiate yourself to get to the next level”. CompTIA members and audience will be able to interact with the panel and learn how to work with professional associations to build experience, knowledge and networking.

“CompTIA is empowering Women in IT by acknowledging their achievements and providing a platform to share the secrets of their success.
