Zylog Systems (Ottawa) Ltd (“Zylog”) is now authorized in the Federal Government for a new SA domain for Solution-Based Informatics Professional Services (SBIPS): Managed Services.
“Solutions-Based Informatics Professional Services (SBIPS) is a method of supply comprising of services and, in certain situations, essential goods, whereby a supplier defines and provides a solution to a requirement, manages the overall requirement, phase or project and accepts responsibility for the outcome”1.
The SBIPS Supply Arrangements are divided into 11 domains of expertise. Certain companies, like Zylog, can qualify for more than one domain. Zylog had already qualified for “Legacy Support and Transportation” and “Information Management/Business Intelligence” domains for all regions, and now Zylog qualifies also for Managed Services for all regions.
Managed Services domains of expertise are “IT Infrastructure and applications management services that provide cost-effective support for business applications and IT infrastructure. Services include: desktop and server management, datacenter management, network management, application management and help desk support services.”2
